Regular visitors to my blog will no doubt by now be familiar with Lori Cullen as I have posted a few clips from past performances. Tonight she was playing at Hugh's room in Toronto. Sometimes I can't believe what I'm hearing. "A truly original talent and incredible vocalist, she blends roots, jazz and soothing pop with her own original compositions or her unique take on not-so-standard jazz interpretations." Wonderful!

World Without Words /Kevin Breit from folkalarm's new CD "5". featuring Kevin Breit, Russ Boswell, Jorn Juul Andersen, Denis Keldie and Perry White.
"Kevin wears many musical hats -- not only does he front two bands of his own, Sisters Euclid and Folkalarm, he has recorded and toured with Cassandra Wilson, K.D. Lang, Norah Jones, Holly Cole and many others. If it has strings he can play it. Kevin is an eclectic, dynamic musician."

We are truly blessed living in Toronto, on any given night the choice and quality of live music being played in the city is remarkable. Last night two of my favorite local performers were playing, Lori Cullen at the City Roots City Wide Festival in the Distillery District, and a little later Robi Botos at the Montreal Bistro (Robi continues through tonight with Brandi Disterheft on bass and Sly Juhas on drums). There are two short video clips available for download below. Get out and support live music.
